On Saturday, I was walking on the street minding my own business when all of the sudden, I see some dude doing magic tricks next to a bicycle. On the bicycle, there’s was a sign with the following written : “Bike around the world from Japan. www.feel-the-earth.com“.
Of course, that caught my eyes so I stood there for a while to check it out this Japanese fellow who apparently travels around the world with only “human power” meaning hand rowing boats, bicycle and hiking. As you can read, there’s a website address on the sign so thanks to my iPhone, I quickly check his internet page, www.feel-the-earth.com.
There’s a short introduction where I learned that his name is Keiichi Iwasaki and he’s been going around the globe with his bicycle for the past 7 years! That’s right, he spent almost a decade visiting and looking at amazing things in many different country. He also writes that he’s spent a year in Nepal training for climbing Mount Everest which is “only” 8’848m high…
Keiichi’s plan is to write a book at the end of his journey, a book that I will for sure read once it’s out. I know for a fact that I would never ever spend 10 years doing what he does BUT on the other hand, I have nothing but respect for such ambition. Traveling town to town, earning money on the street with magic tricks and seeing amazing things.
He has a little planning on his website sooo if he passes by your place, be sure to check your most busy street and give him credit for his accomplishment. I like his little trick where he folds a handkerchief into an animal shape and make it jump around. More info on Keiichi Iwasaki on his website www.feel-the-earth.com.
