Deadly diseases

My mum was a bit sick last weekend and what does she tell me on the phone “I hope it’s not that H1N1 swine flu!!!”… to what I responded “I actually WISH it was H1N1 SWINE FLU!”. She’s obviously and innocently reacting to the big media drama announcing every single death about H1N1. Let me stress that again: THE-REGULAR-FLU-KILLS-FAR-MORE-PEOPLE-THAN-THIS-ASS-PIG-FLU! There get it?

It is the same thing when we had the mad cow disease and the bird flu from Asia… really people were expecting the apocalypse, a real version of 28 days later and last but not least, impressive pharmaceutical vaccines ordered (how convenient…). Let’s get real here, AIDS has killed millions of people. H1N1 has killed a whooping few thousands. In comparison in the US, 3’900 (weak) people died from H1N1 in 2009… while 36’000 others died from regular flu.

I also made this strip because as we approach 2010, we see a lot of retarded “What are the top 10 … of this decade?” surveys and that goes for movies, songs, tv shows etc… Really guys… we’re asking the wrong questions. The subject should be “What are the top 10 idiotic things I’ve done or said this decade?”. Then you’ll realize in this over saturated informative society, too many people have abused their freedom of speech right. The medias should really shut the fuck up about that H1N1 flu. We’ve got enough drama as it is.
