Webcomics guest, Sharpman

Today, another webcomics artist, Sharpman (yeah don’t ask about the name)! If you don’t read French, then again it might be a problem but that doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy his art.

Humor and creativity, this is how I could summarize his work. Deeply influenced by Akira Toriyama (dragon ball), you can recognize some aspect of his graphics especially when he draws animals. The character Sharpman evolves in a world where he decides what is going on by drawing it (ok might be confusing when the author and the character have the same name but hey… ).

The origin of the strip also comes from the fact that Sharpman has advised me to put more background elements in my strips. This is something I have always had trouble doing so because first of all, the drawing area is quite small and the characters can quickly become overwhelmed. Also, I want to focus on the dialog and the character so adding backgrounds might be too much colors. But I know that he’s somewhat right and this is why I sometimes try to add some backgrounds (like the Tokyo Subway strip).
